Plant a Tree!

The Landscaping and Tree Committees are encouraging owners to (re)plant trees in the neighborhood that are hardy and long lived, such as a beautiful Live Oak, Magnolia, Elm, or Red Maple. Our neighborhood has lost many of its "Legacy Trees" in recent years, and the loss of these trees greatly changes the aesthetics of our community. It is asked that you consider planting a Legacy Tree in your yard this year. Trees such as Live Oaks can be purchased for as little as a $100, and with care, can live to be several hundred to a thousand years old. A small live oak can take up to 70 years to reach its maximum diameter, and they usually grown about 2 feet per year. So, planting a small one can ensure that there are trees here for future generations, while still having minimal impacts or concerns in our lifetimes. As indicated by their title, they genuinely serve as a legacy we can pass on, and a memorial to those who plant them.
